Guessing from your IP location in Vietnam, you are located outside of Japan. In theory it’s possible to sell goods from overseas through the Japanese Rakuten. But consider that 1) you need a company registered in Japan 2) everything is in Japanese. So perhaps a better bet is to find an associate or agent company that will setup the business for you.

I’m looking for an air mattress and saw a number of them on Rakuten and thought it’d be easy for me to just drop by one of their outlets and pick one up. It looks like I’m going to have to order online, something I hesitate to do because of the possibility of credit card fraud. “Once bitten, twice shy” and all that. Thanks anyway.

Is this normal? Did I do something wrong? Any information you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you located in or outside of Japan? I believe Rakuten Auctions (楽天オークション) does not support delivery to foreign countries.

Sure. Many Rakuten sellers have their own physical stores but because the site wants you to order online; it’s not really something they support.

On rakuten.co.jp you have several other payment methods:
Bank Transfer (銀行振込)
Cash on Delivery (代金引換)
You can also use your credit card for COD.
